Me, with Robert Kiyosaki, Trent Kirk, another finalist from Australia, and Bill Farley's wife, CEO of Fruit of the Loom and multi-millionaire.
Thanks to Bro. Nygren for informing me of the opportunity, I entered a business contest and was chosen as a finalist. Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO) put on the contest. The contest was for college entrepreueurs with impressive businesses. It was one of those things I entered when I was up late and had nothing else to do. After an impressive web presentation, I was called back with an invitatation for an all expense trip to Chicago to compete as a global finalist. I was surprised that a no name kid from Rexburg, Idaho could make it to the Global Finals with a shaved ice business!! All in all, there were over a thousand applicants, and 26 lucky ones were chosen to compete in Chicago.
So, first place was won by a student from Boston College who runs a highly technological dry cleaning business with ‘digital locker’s’ as his bread and butter. The business is called husky express, if you care to look it up.
The networking during my week in Chicago was awesome. It was amazing to be in the room with dozens of successful entrepreneurs that were all millonaires. Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad was among them.
The contest was an unforgettable experience, with lots of nice food, great people, and lots of new friendships.
